Game Description
In this crowdbreaker/icebreaker game, youth try to get someone to smile or laugh by taking on the characteristics of a kitten.
Game Materials
Chairs arranged in a circle with one less chair than participants.
Game Play
- Everyone sits in a circle with one person in the center of the circle as the kitty. (You can also use another animal and the person in the center must take on the characteristic of that animal. )
- The goal is for the kitty to make someone smile or laugh. The leader or the group can judge whether the person does or not.
- The kitty slinks over to any participant in the circle and does her best loving cat imitation or some other variation. The participant the kitty crawls over to must say “Poor kitty” and pat the kitty on the head without smiling or laughing.
- The kitty then meows while making funny faces, trying to get the other person to smile or laugh.
- The kitty can try a maximum of 3 times, and each time the patricipant must say “Poor Kitty” and pat it on the head.
- If the participant doesn’t smile or laugh after 3 meows, the kitty moves to another participant.
- If the kitty succeeds, then they trade places, and there is a new kitty.
